The Art Snob: Wim Delvoye, the artist who gave us Cloaca and tattooed pigs, was invited by The Louvre for a confrontation of his work with history and old masters. Mr. Delvoye’s pieces conjure up an imaginary world in which anything is possible, with works that are rooted in the subversive and ironic re-interpretation of older styles, mainly Gothic and Baroque. A new monumental work “Suppo” was specially created for the central column supporting the Pyramid’s entry platform and will be on display till the end of this year. The exhibition is on view till September 17th, 2012.
